Zebra connectors (conductive elastomer connectors) are made by alternately stacking conductive and insulating silicone layers and vulcanizing them. They offer stable, reliable performance and efficient assembly, and are widely used to connect LCDs to circuit boards in game consoles, telephones, electronic watches, calculators, and instruments.

Main types include YS, YSa, YP, YSP, and YY conductive connectors.

1. YS transparent zebra connectors have soft silicone side layers. The transparent layers provide good resilience and electrical insulation for LCD and LCM dot-matrix modules. They prevent short circuits against metal housings after assembly, helping maintain stable display performance.

2. YSa zebra connectors are among the more difficult types to manufacture. Conductive layers can be offset to suit the application, providing good contact and reliable electrical continuity.

3. YP and YSP zebra connectors are basic connector types. Silicone sponge on both sides provides electrical insulation and vibration damping, helping prevent short circuits against metal housings.

4. YY connectors have insulating support layers that are 20 hardness points softer than the central conductive layer, improving conductive contact during compression assembly.

5. Compared with YP and YS connectors, YI connectors retain a relatively thick conductive layer in a thin overall profile, providing sufficient contact area.

6. Custom-profile zebra connectors are more difficult to manufacture and meet special requirements for low-current electrical connections.

7. YL conductive silicone connectors alternate insulating and conductive sheets to provide conduction on all four sides. They support four-direction connections between PCBs and LCDs for low-current applications.
